and i HATE to be forgotten.

I just got back from a national day variety show..

Looking at the kids running around, full of energy,
i couldn't stop myself from thinking..

WHY?

why are they so enthusiastic about everything?
why are they not afraid of falling down?
why are they putting their fullest in all they do?
why are they enjoying themselves so much?
why are they so carefree and happy?

I couldn't help but to compare.
who are we?

who are THEY?

why are we different?

CHILDREN

of different age, race, gender, ethnicity, family background etc..

they all have similar traits.

HAPPY
happy to be themselves

TRUE
true feelings without any ulterior motives

CURIOUS
curious about everything, love to learn

FREE
free of troubles, happy-go-lucky

ENTHUSIASTIC
enthusiastic in everything they do, giving all out.

After all, you and me, we were ONCE like them..

WHAT HAPPENED?

pressure from the society and
stress created by yourself.

we're too conscious about how we're viewed by the society.
we're too conscious about what others think of us.

so much so that,

we cant be as carefree,
as true, as enthusiastic.

when we grow older,
somehow..

the enthusiasm die out,
the curiousness fade away.

we're more complex.

we learn to think about how others feel,
we care about what others think,
sometimes more than neceesary.

we learn tt image is important.
we try to create an image for ppl to accept,
sometimes too hard than needed.

being innocent and true wont promise u friends.
being happy-go-lucky and carefree wont get u anywhere.
being curious wont guarantee u success.

its not our fault to be who we are now,
we've grown up.

its all part and parcel of life,
as much as i miss it.

treasure what u have now.

time will not stop for anyone.
