SHOULD THE SALE OF ORGANS BE ALLOWED?

that was on the SUNDAY times..
BIG HOOHA.
it was a HOT topic since quite some time ago..

some how the discussion gets hot again,
after "KIDNEYS FOR SALE" issue..
illegal kidney trading, online, overseas etc..

it was one of the topics we actually study for GSC.
General Studies In Chinese, A' level subject..

remembered reading articles, discussing about it,
writing essays on it in class, some time LAST YEAR. =\

well, i dont see WHY NOT..

Is it wrong to buy a kidney to save a life, or to sell one to help yourself out of poverty?

why NOT make the sale of organs legal?
since now we have so many illegal cases.

at least making it legal helps protect the interest of the "seller" / "buyer"
as the government can then administer the whole trading process..

here is how the debate goes:

-MARKET AND EXPLOITATION?

unfair to donor:
If money is offered to organ donors, the most desperate will be the most easily attracted.
It means, if everybody has a price, the price will be lower for those who need money the most.

unfair to recipient:
If the markets take the form of auctions, the highest bidder would get organs first.

Scenario:
desperate people are exploited for their kidneys, and the wealthy get to jump to the front of the queue for scarce medical care.

TOO BAD
we've got to be realistic.
this is how the world works.
MONEY MAKES THE WORLD GO ROUND.

everyone have the right to decide to sell or not,
it is a TWO-WAY kinda thing.
they need the money, you need the organs.
so WHY NOT?

even if the sale of organs is NOT legalized,
there is still the BLACK MARKET.
i dont see how it helps..

-MORAL ISSUE?

Some contend that society have a duty to preserve life and relieve human suffering,
NOT by creating injustices or to violate the rights of individuals.
Health issue will bug the donors if they sell their organs, with financial issue solved..

OH IS IT?
speaking of preserving life, there is a shortage of organ donors.
people are dying of organ failure. and nothing could be done..

relieving human suffering, same argument.
also, the donor will get monetary benefits,
and perhaps bring them out of their poverty lifestyle..
it is a WIN-WIN situation.

what rights to violate?
you want money, you agree to sell your organs..
it is YOUR right to decide to sell or not.
it is NOT for anyone else to decide, by NOT ALLOWING it.

Health issue?
i doubt this will be a problem, with today's advancement in science and technology.

i applaud Dr Lee for championing organ selling since last year when she wrote in to The Straits Times Forum page.

hopefully, it'd be finally legalized and accepted. =]]

EXAMS' OVER!!!
at least for now..
for this weekend.. =]]

todays' last paper, maths p2.
was a flop, as usual..

went for brunch with my friends..
then got home, bathed, changed and all..
to meet dear and friends for movie.
WANTED. i'd give it 4stars. =]

she is freaking HOT. SEXY. ELEGANT! XDD

he is cute? hahas. from a dumb useless guy to a MAN.

the graphics were great. =]]

hahas. but most of the story was v unrealistic..
BUT ITS COOL!! XDD LOL.

after which me and dear went town, shopping. XD

hehe. this is the top tt my dear claimed to look v nice on me.
does it? lols. i tink its not too bad, but i didnt buy it. =\

and i RUSHED back to my sec school,
for our annual cultural fiesta night.

HELLOS! im back..
after FOUR torturous days..
tmr is my last paper, MATHS. [paper2]
so i shall take a break and rest.. XDD

sometimes, i find it amazing how human beings can relate to other objects/creatures.

maybe its not just "CRAZY" people..

my sister is one girl obsessed wit her toys.
she treats them like a living thing..

well. i dont. i just talk to them ONCE A WHILE.

weird isnt it?

y do children talk to soft toys?
maybe out of boredom, just for FUN?

y do human love and feel for animals?
maybe cus we're HUMAN, tt's called compassion?

y do people feel pity when old trees are cut down?
maybe it brings certain memories?

y do human beings relate to non-living things/ creatures/ plants etc?

EXAMS SUCKS.

just finished my maths paper 1 today..

arghhs. it sucks to go for an exam HALF prepared.
and its worse when u can do a question but u give up.
cus its too tedious and u had not practiced enough.

I HATE IT when i practiced for few hours.. for a certain topic.
and i screw up the question. not difficult.
but some cock-eyed girl didnt read the question properly.

haiix.. hoping to pass.

shall go MIA for this few days.

have to do some last min revision.
no choice.

Had my NATIONAL JUNIORS competition today..
qualified as the last one.. [slowest timing]

here are some photos of me running..
that was for the progressive meet, qualifying rounds.
400m RACE

look, how strong.
look, how confident.
look, how intimidating.

last hundred:

feel the lactic acid.
see the tired face.
hear the ppl cheer.

today was horrible.
SCREWED up race.
race of the century man.

the organizers were so bloody disorganized..
supposed to be two heats, im in lane 6.

end up, combine, im in lane 8!
and all these last min confusing changes
occured FEW MINUTES before the race.

and it happened tt all the slower ppl didnt turn up.
so, im way behind the rest.. WAY WAY WAY behind.

and i hate tt.

usually i run a confident, do my best kinda race.

today..
my standard was far behind theirs.
got overtaken by the first 200m.
and the last 200 was HELL.

i was demoralized.
i was tired.
i was feeling SCREWED.
i was going to give up.
i was far behind... ...

and im in lane 8. with a BIG curve
and there is no way i can catch up..

tt sucks. i almost gave up.
but i noe i cant. haiix.

and i slowed down alot at the last 150m..
wanted to stop. cus i noe..
i noe the gap is gg to get bigger..
im gg to lag behind more..

at the last 100m.
CLASSIC.

horrible facial expression.
terrible running style.
feeling disppointed,
muscles drained.

i heard my team mates shout.
i felt my sweetheart's presence.
i forced all my energy out.

i completed the race.
with a suckky timing..

not my personal best.
just average. =\

OMG! holidays' over SOOOOON.

and im feeling so sooo soooo DEAD.

few reasons:

1. COMPETITION: 400m race.
and im the LAST qualifier for the heats.
meaning i'd run and come back LAST.

worse still. the race is TWO days before exams.
which brings me on to the second point.

2. EXAMS: right after holidays.
and im not even HALF way through.
meaning i'd screw up and fail.

worse still. the exams tests all J1 and 2 topics.
which means i CONFIRM cant finish my revision.

3. CCA: nationals coming up.
and im getting muscle tightness, flus..
meaning i cant train much and cant improve!

worse still. the NATIONALS is the week after our exams.
which would disrupt our training, stressed..

I HAVE NO TIME.
I NEED MORE TIME.

HOW I WISH PRETTY PPL GET DISCOUNT
AND THEIR TIME FLY PAST SLOWER.
