Imagine 30 students packed at the canA bus stop, waiting..
179A comes by..
and everyone stares at it pass the bus stop slowly..
LOL!

:S

this then sets me off thinking..

What would people do when they see such a situation?

Most will help?
NO.

people-

STARE.
WAIT.
HOPE.
GONE.

people stare, wonder. analyse the situation.
then,
they wait and hope someone else will help.
everyone thinks another someone will step forward.
next,
it could be too late to do anything.

this is known as the bystander effect.

it refers to the phenomenon in which the greater the number of people present, the less likely people are to help a person in distress. When an emergency situation occurs, observers are more likely to take action if there are few or no other witnesses.
